A Nice Pair

With The Dark Side Of The Moon (released the previous year) welcoming many new fans to the world of Pink Floyd, this compilation repackaged the first two albums - The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn and A Saucerful Of Secrets - in an intriguing gatefold cover.

This featured numerous pictures of the band on the inside spread, and a variety of puns or sayings illustrated on the outer cover, as well as a picture of one line-up of the Pink Floyd FC football team.

The album was intended as an introduction to the earlier, developing sound of the band, from the whimsy of Syd Barrett through to longer, more elaborate pieces.
