Roger Waters performed the first of a further 72 shows of his Wall Live tour, at the Burswood Dome in Perth, which over the year took in Australia, New Zealand, and North/South America.

David Gilmour performed at the London HMV Hammersmith Apollo as part of the multi-artist bill for the late Douglas Adams' 60th Birthday celebrations. David performed Wish You Were Here, followed by the Chuck Berry song, Too Much Monkey Business, then for the finale, led by Gary Brooker, David contributed a very well-received, sympathetic guitar solo for A Whiter Shade of Pale.

Nick Mason, along with Ed Sheeran, Mike Rutherford and Richard Jones, performed Wish You Were Here at the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony in London.

Nick Mason became an Honorary Doctor of Letters courtesy of the University of Westminster (formerly the Regent Street Polytechnic, where Nick, Roger Waters and Richard Wright all met).

Roger Waters was amongst the performers at 12-12-12: The Concert For Sandy Relief, a concert to raise money following the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. Roger performed Another Brick In The Wall, Us and Them, and Comfortably Numb with Eddie Vedder as guest vocalist. Others on the bill included The Rolling Stones, The Who, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, and the surviving members of Nirvana.
