DEAR PINK FLOYD
UmmaGumma was the Pink Floyd album I accidently stumbled upon early in the Summer of 1970, at a Woolco Department Store in Daytona Beach, Florida . . . Before that day, I had never heard of Pink Floyd yet . . .
I had already been playing in Bands myself, starting in 1967, at 11 years old . . . And a band I was in was already playing cover tunes by BLUE CHEER, which was our favorite band at that time . . . I brought the UMMAGUMMA album home & played it in it’s entirety with my Mother listening to it with me . . . When it finished playing, I told my Mother that I didn’t think Pink Floyd was “HEAVY” enough for me like Blue Cheer! HA!!!!! HA!!!HA!!!!! But my Mother said “Give this Band a chance Jeff! Because I think that album might be THE MOST INTERESTING ALBUM I’ve ever heard you play here at the House!” SO IT ACTUALLY TOOK MY MOTHER TO KEEP ME INTERESTED IN PINK FLOYD at first! . . . And the rest is History . . .
