My dad raised me on your music and I find that in some of my art and poetry there are nods to your lyricism as it has shaped me since I was a child. I really bonded with my dad over your music as well, with it being a tradition to listen to the Wall on road trips. To this day I have listened to more Pink Floyd than any other artist I think. I explored more of your discography than my dad ever did. He died when I was 18, so there’s no chance of him being able to listen to anything other than what he heard, or so I thought. I’ll never forget the day after he died. I was driving home from a friend’s house out in the country late at night and Wish You Were here came on. I immediately broke down sobbing while driving . Almost instantly, as soon as I started crying , I felt a prescinde and a wave of calmness out of nowhere, and it left without uttering a word but I knew it was him. Ghosts are beckoned by your music as well, called back by the emotion your songs bring. -SRB
