I was 20 years old sitting on my friends front porch, I can’t recall the exact date but I know it was a beautiful sunny day and me and 3 of my very best friends were smoking a joint when “Wish you were here” came on the stereo. Instantly I was hooked, I needed to hear more. And when the song was over my friend said “When I die I want Chris to play that song at my funeral”… days, weeks, months and even years went by, we grew apart having children of our own and living our life…until I got that phone call that my friend had tragically died in an accident…and suddenly we were taken back to that day when he had proudly wished for your song to be played at his funeral…it was the most beautiful, heartbreaking moment I’ve ever experienced…I will always here that song and remember my wonderful friend!!!! So thank you Pink Floyd for all the wonderful words you have given us!!!
