One of my oldest memories involves you. It was 1981, I was four years old and my cousin was sixteen. She had The Wall on vinyl. We were at our grandparents house and she was angry because our grandfather wouldn’t let her go out with her friends. She brought me into the bedroom where the record player was and locked the door. The Wall album started playing and the volume was maxed out. Our grandfather was livid when we came out of the room. I had on tons of makeup, my hair was teased and stiffened with Aqua Net hairspray, my fingernails were painted blue, and I was a brand new Floydian. Since that day, you have remained my favorite. In my highest of highs and my lowest of lows, you were there. You are unlike anyone or anything else. Pink Floyd, your words and sound are purely magical and I will always love you the most. Shine on!!
