I clearly remember the very first time listening to this masterpiece at night in a mustang on 8-track tape with a good friend and a left-handed cigarette. I also remember the shrink wrap on my first purchase of the record and how it fooled me.. It was all so well-timed in my life when I needed this album more than I knew. It opened my mind to so much and caused many visual streams of heavy-hitting chords that still ring well in my head today. As for the postcard, I sent it to myself from my graduation trip to Florida. For 50 years, it has never let me down. It made the stars at night shine even brighter. Welcome to the Machine transported my mind on an elevator to another height level! Wish You Were Here was monumental for the millions of times I have listened to it, at the multitude of feelings it weaved! It was the right time for it to happen, and it did!
