There are events that become so strongly etched in memory that they create new, personal feelings, one that cannot be even put to words. It’s a thrill. That proverbial shiver down the spine. “A delicate sound of thunder” that rolls under one’s skin whenever a particular song plays, bringing out that memory to surface. When the feeling surfaces – the world around could as well not be there. It’s a blur, because one remembers the moment or a situation which is connected to that piece of music.
How many of those have your music provided me with?
Hearing “Animals..” on repeat while my dad was working… Listening to “Shine on you …”, on an old radio, sitting under the table during Christmas time. Watching “The wall” on a worn out video tape with friends at the uni. Hearing “High hopes” for the first one ever. Sitting on a floor of the V&A museum with other people just watching the rolling projections in dumbfounded state.
I do not ever want to lose these feelings and memories
