Greville

I bought my CD of “Wish You Were Here” around 25 years after the original album release. But I’ve been listening to it ever since the day of release. Sat in a rented room in Nottingham, a trainee engineer listened to Radio Trent on his Sony tuner with his Sony reel-to-reel tape recorder standing by. Rookie DJ and sports commentator Clive Tyldesley announced that there was a new Pink Floyd album out that day and he was going to play it all the way through. I put a fresh reel of tape on the recorder, waited on Pause Record for Clive to announce the start and then released the Pause. I’ve been listening to it ever since.
I was introduced to Ummagumma by a school friend in 1969 and was in the audience for the Atom Heart Mother concert in Sheffield City Hall on 22nd December 1970. My biggest regret is not going to the Dark Side concert when I was a student in Birmingham.
Thank you for a lifetime of music
