Thank you for writing music that touches the soul. A few years ago I started messing around with a guitar at my grandpas house. He sat me down and taught me how to play Wish You Were Here, and that was the first song I ever learned on guitar. Over the next few years we would always talk about how awesome your music was and how every guitar solo, every lyric, ever harmonization was just perfect. We would send each other songs that we thought the other hasn’t heard yet, we would watch your live performances and everything. A few weeks ago I got the worst call imaginable, my grandpa has unexpectedly passed and I was shattered. On my way over to his house I blasted Wish You Were Here, and just started crying thinking on when he first sat down and taught to me. Ever since he passed there has been a void in my heart, and I feel like music is the only way to fill it, your music. So thank you, thank you for the music, thank you for the memories, thank you for being such a major part in my life
