I write to thank you not only for the music but for all the feeling each of you has given me.
Ah, how hard it is to express in words what only notes can say. Sometimes the silence between them is all that is needed for the loudest outburst of emotions.
To each of you, Roger, David, Nick and even Rick, though he can no longer hear me or read what I write, I say that you have changed the way I perceive the world and music itself.
It is about no longer settling for anything less but opening one’s eyes to the real world, seeing it critically and yet still finding beauty in every detail.
Syd Barrett, you began something no human being has ever been able to do, a blend of emotions that, like the prism on The Dark Side of the Moon, reflected within us the greatest of experiences.
