You’re music changed the way I perceived the medium. My first exposure to you was The Wall film and I felt a sense of being both uncomfortable and amused in Gerard Scarfe’s illustrations of Pink’s mother, teacher, and wife in their grotesque nature. I could relate to the desperation of Pink in nobody home and was captivated by the metamorphosis of Pink. I loved waiting for the worms after running .The Wall however was just the appetizer to your music.
The Division bell was the next of your albums to catch my eye. I remember when I was a child my grandfather had a fridge magnet of the album cover. I used to see one face but now as an adult I can only see two. I rediscovered it years later and it was like no other album I have heard before. Cluster one is almost magical and Take it back felt strangely familiar. High hopes is an great finale and I never want it to end.
Floyd your music is truly something special. I am so grateful to have grown up with your music.
