When I was 16, I heard Comfortably Numb for the first time and thought to myself – what was this. I decided to listen through whole Pink Floyd’s discography and read books about them to see what was the appeal. I was intrigued but in a very objective way, I considered this as my research.
Through this long journey, I discovered poems, kickass music, journeys to another dimension, the power of critical thinking, saying f**k off to governments, taking care of friends, shining on and not caring where your oysters come from. Everytime I started to listen the next album, it perfectly aligned with the current chapter of my life.
I also got my mum and my best friends hooked on Pink Floyd’s music, one of my proudest achievements.
And now, I have time capsules of my life seen through the magical realism lens of Pink Floyd safely stored in their albums.
Thank you, you mastermen!
