I discovered Pink Floyd in high school starting with The Wall and followed by WYWH, DSTOM, Meddle, Animals, AMLOR, and finally, The Division Bell. As soon as I could drive, the local movie theater in town would show “The Wall” every Saturday at midnight, and I went with friends more times than I can remember. I would listen to my Pink Floyd tapes on my Walkman on the daily bus ride to school so many times. During my senior year, I skipped school to see the Division Bell tour at Foxboro Stadium, and for the quote under my picture in the yearbook, I wished all my fellow seniors, “the warm thrill of confusion, that space cadet glow” as we all went into adulthood. The following year, I waited in line at Tower Records to get Pulse with the blinking red light on the spine of the box. It was one of my first CDs, which I still have today and the LED still works. Thank you for being a safe place for a high school kid who was happily a little different than everyone else.
