Sofia

I remember a few years ago when I was on a ride home with my dad, and “On The Turning Away” came on the XM Classic Rewind station.

At the time, I was quite new to Pink Floyd. I had known some songs and listened to an album or two–I cannot quite remember, again, it was a few years ago–but when that song came on…I asked my father to turn the volume up, which he did. I had not heard that song before, but boy, I’m glad I did.

I took a bit to stop and listen to the music. I didn’t speak over it; I made no conversation. It was so profound and really spoke to me (ha) like no other song did, and down the road as I listened to more of Pink Floyd, I realized that they changed the way I thought about music. And that’s BIG. (And still true.)

Now, as we approach the Thanksgiving season here in America, I want to say that I am forever thankful for Pink Floyd and how they rocked and changed my world in ways that no other artist has, or ever will do. THANK YOU!
