Dear, Pink Floyd…
My Dad doesn’t remember, but I do. It was the mid to late 70’s, I couldn’t have been much more than 5 years old. He had a stereo with 4 individual speakers seemingly bigger than I was, they sat at four corners with me sitting in the middle. I begged him to play the bells, for me that was the start of my love of music, specifically Pink Floyd. I was blessed to have the love passed down to me, the love of music, laughter, smiles, tears, chaos, feelings… music is life. It’s all wrapped up and an inseparable part of ME. Pink Floyd has been there for me through the last 50+ years. I find a new appreciation for the music at every age. When I watched Live at Pompeii in the movie theaters earlier this year with my Father by my side, I was moved to tears. As we walked out of the movie theater I told him it was a religious experience, he chuckled. I held his hand as I helped him to the car, with the music playing in my head.
Thank you SB, RW, NM, RW, DG
