For all the music I’ve ever listened to, and all of the bands I love, I’ve never been compelled to listen so closely or in such entirety as to Pink Floyd.
Such an incredible journey in time and sound from an ode to English whimsy and the dawn of the space age, to powerful political records with bite and meaning underpinning a time of global fear and anxiety. Most of these albums were made before I was born and I only discovered them many years after they were released.
Like all music fans there is regret and sorrow for that which can no longer be, but such appreciation and joy for the magic that was made.
Thank you for a masterclass in what an album can be and for some of the most timeless music ever made.
