I grew up in the US – at 10 years old I was introduced to your music by a schoolmate. It would have been 1978 then. You arrived with controversy with the release of “The Wall” the following year. I was learning guitar and just starting to explore music – there were Floyd marathons on the radio, late night at the time and I stayed up listening quietly at first., then loudly as I got my own room at 13 years old… David’s guitar was mesmerising, more so than any other guitarist. The music absolutely transported me and it became a lifelong obsession. Around 2004 I had my daughter and two years later my son. When both couldn’t sleep I would put on Echoes – perhaps strange and a bit frightening but both responded by immediately relaxing and then sleeping. In my arms. Absolutely every album has taught me something new and moved me. The music is integral to my life and I am beyond grateful for your efforts…
